The National Opera Studio returns to Welsh National Opera with a set of opera excerpts devised and directed by Emma Jenkins exploring the themes of Absurdism. Featuring some of the most off-the-wall operas, from Les Mamelles de Tirésias to Alcina, Cheryomushki to Le Roi Carotte, Siân will be performing the roles of Bradamante in the Act 3, scene 7 Trio from Handel’s Alcina, Zaida in the Act 2 Quintet of Rossini’s Il Turco in Italia, as well as ensemble roles in excerpts from Shostakovich’s Cheryomushki, Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado, Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Martinu’s Julietta and Offenbach’s Le roi Carotte.
